A little bit about me

I am from Louisiana, and I just finished my first year of law school at Louisiana State University. I am the oldest grandchild in my large family with many younger cousins, and I love getting to spend time with them and watch them learn new things and look forward to helping them grow into successful adults in the future. I graduated college with a 4.0 GPA, and I am now pursuing a career in Family Law. I have also worked for the United States Senate in Washington D.C. where I worked alongside the Healthcare Policy Advisors on a bill aimed at stopping surprise medical billing in emergency situations. During my time in D.C., I also gave tours of the Capitol Building and enjoyed sharing my love for American History with constituents who came to visit. I am organized, outgoing, enthusiastic, and passionate about being successful at any task.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have cared for a young boy, Jack, since May 2017. He was only a few months old when I began, and now, I also care for his younger brother, Walt, who was born this past year. I have loved getting to watch Jack grow up and begin school. He is incredibly smart and is eager to learn, so I love coming up with new educational activities. As a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, our philanthropy was Girl Scouts of the USA, Prevent Child Abuse America, and the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home. All of these organizations allowed me to participate in events benefitting these children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love both indoor and outdoor activities. I love taking Jack and Walt on walks, we go to the park almost every day, and we occasionally have picnics outside. Indoor activities are also one of my favorite times of the day. We read books, do arts and crafts, listen to music, and play games. I love being able to come up with new activities based on different topics they are interested in or involving things Jack is learning about that week at school. When Jack was learning the alphabet, we made "letter bags" where each bag had a letter and we sorted items corresponding with the letter into the different bags. Little games like this are fun because the children do not even know they are learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Growing up, I had nannies, and the ones who were my favorite were those who tried to connect with me on a personal level. I already had to parental figures, and did not want another. Although it is important to obey the rules, even when parents are away, my favorite nannies made me want to follow the rules because I wanted them to be proud of me. I respected them, and I admired the way they carried themselves, their knowledge, and their ability to share that knowledge with me. I think it is important for a nanny to be someone the children respect and admire, and as a result, they will want to be like them and make them proud.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I am often surprised by how much information Jack is able to retain. He and his family had an upcoming trip to Disney World, and to prepare, we were talking about different characters he was going to be able to meet. He was particularly excited to take a picture with Peter Pan. He tossed his Captain Hook action figure onto the table, and it landed onto a book with Ronald Reagan on the cover. He exclaimed, "Hey, look! Captain Hook landed on that man's face." I said, "his name is Ronald Reagan." Jack then asked if he would be able to see President Reagan at Disney World. Of course, I told him no, but when he returned from his trip, he said, "I saw Ronald Reagan at Disney." It turns out, Jack had remembered our conversation and saw President Reagan in the Hall of Presidents at Disney.
