I worked at a camp in the past for people with disabilities and I worked there again summer 2022.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to be outside and go on adventures. I've traveled abroad multiple times. I like to take kiddos on "treasure hunt" walks where they look for cool rocks, sticks and leaves. We can either just keep them to look at or make art projects with them. I also like to do sensory activities and just play and spend time outside at parks or playing.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Providing a loving and accepting space for children. A place/person they know they can rely on and who is always there for them when they can't go to their parents.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked at a summer camp for people with disabilities. I also worked as a para in special education for 2 years and I have a brother with chromosomal abnormalities that causes developmental delays. I have provided respite to multiple families and I nannied for a family with a daughter who had a disability.
