"Anna finds fun to have with the kids, she is creative and gets the kids to be respectful and also have fun. She cleans and cooks and is extremely knowledgeable about allergies. Both my kids are blessed with extremely difficult allergies to deal with and she always has the perfect food for them. She is also happy to do cooking for me as I often get off work without having eaten. I trust her to drive in the snow with my car and my kids. I hope that another family can take her on and offer her a good family to have fun with."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started watching children in 1997 for summer money. I have been caring for children in some capacity since then.
I have returned to college and am working towards an AAS in early childhood education and development.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do arts and crafts!
A LOT!
I love reading books and/or doing dialogic reading.
Almost every activity will involve some level of education and fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My job is to keep them safe and teach them how to keep it safe. I love learning to see the world through their eyes and teach them how to be safe and respectful while ensuring their emotions are validated.

My experience with special needs children...

My most recent position has been as both live-in and live out for a family with 3 children. A 2 yr old, 6 yr old, and a neurodivergent 12 yr old. My typical day began by waking the children and having them begin the day. Making balanced breakfasts and lunches- one gluten free and dairy free, the other without restrictions but many preferences. Then I would help the children get dressed and groomed for school. On the drive I would prepare the children for anything that was happening that day. Upon our return the children would wash up and have a snack. Then homework for the oldest and reading with the toddler. Depending on how much homework needed to be done I would then have an activity for the children to do while I made dinner. The grandparents would come for family dinner while I tidied up. Then special dedicated time with the children where it was most wanted or needed. Finally bath time, jammies, and goodnight stories accordingly.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The neurodivergent delight is now old enough for mature questions seeks life advice from me. I love that we get to “real talk.”
…….and they just asked if I would help them get ready for their first formal dance.

My previous story was of when she was 8 and asked mom if I was family. "Of course she is family. She isn't part of blood family. Even better, Anna is part of the family that we make and that we CHOOSE to love."
The question warmed my heart. The moms response brought me to tears.
