My name is Annabelle Stephan. I am a junior at Colorado State University, studying Early Childhood Education with a focus on early education. I will be home in Lafayette, Colorado, for Christmas break. I have worked with children of all ages. I am currently a camp counselor at Rocky Mountain Day Camp and have also been an assistant teacher at the Early Childhood Center (ECC) in Fort Collins. I enjoy working with kids and am friendly and outgoing. I will be home until January 16th, and then I will study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, for a semester. I want to help families during my month at home and on weekends when I am free. I have a car, and I am CPR certified. I am happy to assist any family that needs help. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have completed over 25 hours of volunteering at Bennett Elementary School in Fort Collins. Additionally, I have volunteered numerous times at my own elementary school, Lafayette Elementary. I have also assisted my aunt, who is a preschool teacher at Friends School in downtown Boulder. My major is Early Education so I am learning about young children and adolescents every day and have already seen how applicable my schooling is to my desired profession. This year I was in a pracicum with the toddler classroom at the ECC.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I have played soccer my entire life and love sports. I enjoy using the outdoors as a playground for both learning and fun. I am passionate about creating hands-on activities and games that help children learn while having a great time. I have been taught about the importance of incorporating sensory play for young children and have completed assignments where I develop activities and games that enhance sensorimotor skills, as well as sensory activities that stimulate different parts of children's brains.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It's all about adapting and being patient. I truly believe that teachers my ultimate goal possess a drive for children that is indescribable. Watching kids grow and learn more each day inspires and fascinates me. I think having good communication and relationships with the families involved is very important. Open transparency and honesty are values I have grown up appreciating.
