More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have consistently worked with elementary aged children every other week at my church for a few hours on Sunday mornings. Along with elementary aged children, I have also worked with toddlers and infants, including newborns at my church as well. Additionally, I have plenty of younger cousins all under the age of 10. While experience with cousins might not seem like much, I have babysat my cousins for free for my family, I have also gone on all sorts of errands to help with the kiddos as well. I’ve been around up to 7 of my cousins at once and been present and active with them all. Meeting each of their wants and needs is so important to me. Meeting a child where they’re at, whether they’re shy or antisocial or beyond energetic, is important and I’ve learned through my experiences with both my cousins and the wonderful kids at my church that vary in their needs all the time.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy finding new and creative ways to entertain children. If there’s something they already enjoy though, I always enjoy learning about what they like and enjoying it with them. I love making a blanket fort on a cold or rainy day. When it’s warm outside, going to play in the back yard or at the park is not only my favorite to do because it helps the children get some energy out, but it also gets them outside. For older children, I love teaching them how to bake simple things. There’s so many things to do with children, and I love to do anything from sitting and reading with them, to sledding in the snow with them.
