I have been working with children for over 45 years. Some of my jobs include being a nanny, daycare provider, school teacher, swim instructor, and a child life specialist. I also have 3 adult children of my own. I have just finished my contract as a nanny for an infant. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked as a child life specialist for over 15 years, I owned a before and after school daycare, been an elementary school substitute teacher, a swim instructor, a nanny, a director/teacher for VBS, and held several board positions advocating for children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Over the years, I've done many, many activities with children and my favorite activities are anything that brings laughter and water play.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe it's important for children to feel safe and loved. They need human touch, interaction, patience, consistency and lots of love. In addition to feeling safe and loved, they need to play. Play is the child's most important work and being a nanny is providing opportunities for that play.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked in hospitals with children of different needs for over 15 years, I owned a before and after school daycare that served all children, including children with different needs such as autism. I was the aquatics director for the Boston Public School System where I taught adaptive swimming to their special needs classes. I also have a child with autism and all 3 of my children have had different health needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love when I walk in the house (or hospital/daycare/school) and a little gal/guy smiles and shows excitement because s/he knows we're going to have a great time together.
