For me, the most important part about being a nanny is building trust and a positive relationship with both the kids and their families. It’s not just about watching over them but making sure they feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore and learn new things. I think it is a very rewarding experience.
My experience with special needs children...
I used to be a peer tutoring in school where everyday I would work with students who were my peers and help them with their work or go with them on field trips or help them take an exam. I really enjoyed this because it felt like I was really a big help to them and their teachers.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Not necessarily a nanny moment but one of my favorite moments was when I helped a young child overcome their fear of the water during swim lessons. This happed when I was volunteering at a beach summer camp. It was a rewarding moment seeing their confidence and feeling like I changed their perspective!
