I worked in an infant nursery in 2022. I have also been a summer nanny, summer camp counselor and regular babysitting.

I don't normally do screen time and prefer to play outside, arts & crafts, dance parties, story time, sing alongs, etc. While working at the infant nursery, I got a good portion of my early childhood education certification and love to use it to play age appropriate educational activities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Patience is always my top priority for young children. I find that it can be difficult for them to express their needs, and sometimes that turns into a tantrum. I'm a big believer in comfort and redirection rather than punishment. I like to teach through modeling behavior (especially for those learning to communicate with siblings). While physical safety is always my top priority, I value emotional safety just as much and I find the best way to create that for young children is through patience, kindness, and someone to look up to.
