More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have several years of hands-on experience working with children in both educational and home settings. As a former music teacher for grades 1 to 6, I taught melodian, ukulele, and chorus—creating fun, engaging lessons that helped children express themselves through music. I also worked as a live-in au pair in the U.S. for two years, caring for young children full-time. During that time, I planned outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and supported their daily routines with a kind but firm approach. I truly enjoy working with kids, especially when I can bring creativity into their day through music, nature, and hands-on play.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing both indoor and outdoor activities with children that support their development while keeping things fun and creative. Outdoors, I enjoy going on nature walks, playing at the park, riding bikes, or organizing simple games like scavenger hunts and obstacle courses. Indoors, I like doing arts and crafts, reading books together, building with blocks or Legos, and making music using simple instruments like shakers, melodians, or ukuleles. I also enjoy leading sing-alongs, dance time, and fun themed activities like “color day” or “story art,” where we create drawings based on a story that we've read. I always aim to match activities with each child’s interests and energy level to help them grow, explore, and have fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and structured environment for the children in my care. Safety always comes first. I ensure that every educational activity is both fun and conducted in a way that keeps kids safe and protected. Next, being a positive and good example matters a lot, because children learn by watching and observing, and often copy what we do. That’s why leading with kindness, responsibility, and respect is so important. Lastly, I believe in being kind but firm. Kids are still learning how to manage their emotions, and they need guidance to help them understand, express, and regulate their feelings in a healthy way. Proper boundaries and loving discipline help them grow into confident, respectful, and emotionally aware

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children is limited, but I have worked with children who have ADHD and understand the importance of patience, structure, and flexibility. While I may not have extensive experience, I’m open-minded, quick to learn, and very willing to work with families who can provide guidance or training during the first few weeks. I also know some basic American Sign Language (ASL), which can be helpful for communication and inclusion. I’m committed to providing the best care possible and supporting each child’s unique needs with compassion.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’ve had so many favorite moments with the kids I’ve cared for, but one that always makes me smile is when we were trying to record a ukulele and singing duet—just me and a little one. Right in the middle of the recording, the two-year-old girl started picking her nose and wiped it on me! It was messy but so funny and adorable, and it turned into such a special memory. Another moment that touches my heart is when we draw family pictures together, and the kids always include me in their drawings. It makes me feel truly appreciated and part of their little world.
