I think for me, the most important part of my job is seeing the positive impacts I have made in the minds of my work kids, and in the lives of my work families.
My experience with special needs children...
I spent a year working with a young girl with Down syndrome, accompanying her to school, assisting with education and life skills while there and occasionally working with her at her home, during COVID shut downs. I also spent that year as a morning and overnight nanny for a nonverbal child with autism.
