Sharing when I was… “Little Argentina” stories with a child who enjoyed this form of story-time. A curious five year old, eyes wide open, trying to conceptualise how I was ever their age once! “Did that really happen or are you just pretending?”
I replied, “no, I really woke up at 4am once and filled the sink up with spices from the cupboard while my grown ups were sleeping. I wanted to surprise them with breakfast. Except I was 5 and I had to get on a chair and it was a MESS. I’m not sure how funny they thought it was in the moment, but now, we laugh! Kids make mistakes and that’s okay.”
