More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I started out at a before and after school program as a "Childcare Provider." I did that from [phone number hidden] and loved it. It gave me experience with childcare and gave me the ability to work with a diverse group of kids. Then, I started nannying for a family in the Spring of 2017 (5 month old, 4 year old, and 7 year old). I unexpectedly stopped nannying for them at the end of 2017 as they moved. But it gave me experience with infants and gave me comfortability with working with babies. I started with another family a month or so after where I cared for two children (3 years old, and 5 years old). I love working with children from 4-9+ as I love being active with the children. I love being able to watch them grow, learn/teach them new things.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Park, arts/crafts, swimming pool, educational help/games, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Ensuring that the kids feel safe and comfortable under my care. I understand putting the care of your children into anothers persons hands can be scary so gaining the trust of the children as well as their parents is extremely important.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked at a before and after school program where we had special needs children where I would interact with them but did not work with them on a daily basis.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I and the parents successfully potty trained the 3 year old child I nannied. His mother and father were struggling to get him potty trained and asked me to help during the hours I nannied and within 3 months he was fully independent with going to the bathroom. It took a lot of patience and trust but it is something I am truly proud of.
