More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Public Library (various summers, many hours), tutoring situations, I have also been a frequent babysitter for my family
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Indoor: creative things such as coloring/drawing, making up stories, arts and crafts, things that give them a creative outlet to really show what they're thinking
Outdoor: games that require a little more energy, things like sports (to the best of the child's ability), or other games that use a little bit more imagination, but still allow them to get out some of that energy that is better suited for outside, things that allow them to run around and be active for a little while

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny / babysitter is definitely being able to connect/communicate with the kids. Children are people too, they need to feel seen and heard just as much as we do, and in any job that has to do with children it is SO incredibly important that you are able to communicate and connect with them so that they not only feel heard, but safe with the person they're being entrusted to.
My experience with special needs children...
N/A (would be willing to work with a special needs child, but for the sake of the child because I have no experience, perhaps reconsider)
The most important part about being a nanny...
Last Summer, I was tutoring this girl and her brother. It was the very end of the summer in our last session, and because I had been with them all summer, their parents went out and got cupcakes so we could celebrate. The boy, we'll call him Jake (not his real name), took his cupcake and offered it to me, and then the girl, Bella (also not her real name), offered me hers, a very politely declined, but I did appreciate the sentiment, it was a box of maybe 10 cupcakes, I got up and went to the bathroom, and when I came back, apparently they were so offended that I redirected their cupcakes that they put them all upside down in my seat so that icing was all over it. It's so random, but that's easily one of my favorite memories when it comes to working with children, it was so funny.
