Hi! My name is Asha. I’m a mom of two amazing children, ages 8 and 5, so caring for kids is truly a part of who I am. I’m very nurturing, patient, hands-on, and big on making sure children feel safe, loved, heard, and comfortable being themselves. I love creating little routines, doing arts and crafts, helping with homework, going on outings, and finding fun ways to make everyday things exciting. I also understand from a parent’s perspective how important it is to have someone you can genuinely trust with your children. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve gained childcare experience in several different ways over the years. In 2017, my aunt opened her own daycare, where I helped care for children of different ages. I assisted with meals, playtime, learning activities, nap time, and their everyday routines. I’ve also had nannying and babysitting experience with different families. Being a mom of two has given me even more hands-on experience with everything from morning and bedtime routines to homework, meals, outings, appointments, and helping children work through their emotions. I’m comfortable caring for multiple children at once and understand how important patience, consistency, and structure are while still allowing kids to have fun and be themselves.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love hands-on activities like painting, coloring, arts and crafts, baking, reading, puzzles, and educational games. I also enjoy getting the kids outside, going to the park, taking walks, visiting kid-friendly places, and finding little adventures to do together. I believe kids should be able to have fun while also learning, exploring, and using their imagination.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is making sure children feel safe, loved, heard, and cared for while their parents are away. I believe in being patient while still providing structure and consistency. I also think communication and trust between the nanny and parents are extremely important because we’re working together to give their children the best care possible.

My experience with special needs children...

During my junior and senior years of high school, I was a student aide in a special needs classroom. I worked alongside the teachers and helped with classroom activities, transitions throughout the day, lesson plans, and individual support when needed. That experience taught me that every child learns, communicates, and expresses their needs differently. It helped me become more patient, observant, understanding, and adaptable when caring for children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are the little ones.. when a child gets excited to see me, wants to show me something they learned, or feels comfortable enough to come to me when they need help or comfort. Knowing that a child feels safe and happy with me is one of the most rewarding parts of caring for them.
