A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Asha and I recently graduated with my masters from St.John’s university in the field of literacy. I also have a bachelors degree in adolescent education from St. John’s University. I’ve been working with children since the age of 15 and I love it. I have experiences with working with children from babysitting and from student teaching in schools. I have worked with children of all ages from infants, to toddlers, to teenagers but I love working with all ages. When I begin working with a new child I like to figure out there interests and create activities that will have the child engaged and learning. In my free time I enjoy baking, reading, swimming and exploring new places!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I recently graduated with a teaching degree from St. John’s University. I have experiences working in a middle school with children between the ages 10 to 13. I also worked with these children remote during Covid. Also I have experiences from volunteering at a daycare for several months; working with newborns to children up to the age of 5.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy taking the children to play outdoors when ever it’s possible but some other activities I enjoy doing with the children is creating crafts and doing diy projects. When I first meet a child I like to figure out there interests and use that knowledge to create fun, engaging and educational activities for the the child.

My experience with special needs children...

I have some experience working with special need because I have worked in a public school setting in the past. I also have taken a few courses during my graduate program on how to best help special needs children.
