Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was nanny last summer, and I haven babysitting since I was 12 years old. I coach softball ages 9-12. I work with special needs students 18-21 through the Dallas School District. I have worked with kids, special needs and not, from the ages of 6months-21+.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy being outdoors. I love going for walks, riding bikes, going to the park, or anything with physical activities. I also love cooking with them (if they are old enough). We can go get ice cream, food or just a drive. I am also okay with reading, watching tv or a movie or playing a game with them!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think it is important to respect and trust the kids right off the bat so they know that I am there for them more than the paycheck.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for kids/young adults with all kinds of disorders. I have worked through Polk County as a PSW since I turned 18, and I work at a special needs program through Dallas School District with special needs young adults 18-21.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I loved that on my last day with the 2 kids I nannied for last summer, they each made me a card, a picture and painted a rock for me. I have all of these in my memory bin at home!
