A little bit about me

Hi my name is Ashley and I am passionate about being a role model and a caretaker for children! I have lots of experience with kids from the age of 12 weeks - 10 years old. I was babysitting as early as 15 years old and became a nanny for a family of 4 at the age of 16-17. I worked as a chiropractic assistant for a year where we specialized in children and family care. I am now 29 years old with a Bachelors in Psychology and I have been working as an IT Support Tech for the past 3 years however it is not something that I am passionate about and I am ready to step into a role that brings me joy everyday! Since January of 2023 I have been volunteering as a Sunday School Teacher at our church on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings and that's where my joy comes from! I would love to be surrounded by little ones and have the opportunity to teach and care for them daily as well as helping families feel comfortable and safe leaving their babies as they leave to attend their daily jobs.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was babysitting every single weekend from the age of 15. I became a nanny for a family of 4 at the age of 17. I went to college for psychology with the intention of pursuing my masters in family counseling however, I stopped with my Bachelor's. I became a Chiropractic Assistant during my 4th year of college where we specialized in children and family care. Currently I am a Sunday School Teacher for the 4-5 year olds at our church and I find that my joy truly comes from being with the kids on Wednesday's and Sunday's. I have cared for children as young as 12 weeks to as old as 10 so I am comfortable with kids of any age.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do fun crafts and activities, reading, art, games, and physical activities such as sports or gardening, etc. I truly believe that a child should be staying active physically and engaged mentally.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being someone that a child can rely on and look up to. I believe it is so important to be a good role model in your behavior and how you talk to children because they start to mimic what you do and how you act in certain situations. Being patient and loving in every single situation but at the same time having clear boundaries on what is and is not okay.

My experience with special needs children...

I haven't had too much experience with special needs children however I am willing to learn and I do have incredible patience.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was a nanny for a 12 week old and I LOVED seeing him grow and learn new things every single day. His older brother was 3 at the time and seeing their interactions together was beyond the cutest thing.
