Hi! My name is Ashley. I am 21 years old. I have several months of experience volunteering in a daycare where you’d look after several small children at once. I have experience feeding, changing, and occupying toddlers and infants up to the age of three. I have worked with children with autism and Down syndrome before. I have worked with remote learning (I did it myself for six years) and have reliable transportation. I can cook and clean, so mom and dad can come home to a clean home, happy children with food ready to eat. I have a passion for allowing kids to be kids while making sure that they learn as much as they can about the wonderful world around us.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered for several months at a nursery where I would watch several infants and toddlers together at one time for 4 hours at a time.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to use my creative side when having fun with the kiddos. Baking, arts and crafts, and imaginary games are wonderful for play time, but I love to make games out of normally less fun activities like chores and homework- much quicker to get done, and less stress for the babies!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Allowing children to be children while simultaneously providing them with gentle instruction so that they can grow with healthy respect for those around them and boundaries for themselves. It’s important to maintain that innocence while also allowing them to grow into strong individuals with a sense of independence and compassion for the world around them.

My experience with special needs children...

I cared for my baby brother most days growing up while my parents worked. He’s diagnosed ADHD with suspected autism, as well as working with several special needs kids within the nursery.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was caring for a little boy (18 months) who was very sensitive to the world around him. When other kids would cry, he would cry. My favorite moment was holding him while trying to calm him down and him reaching out to bury his face in my chest/neck. It was the sweetest thing, and made me so happy that I was able to be a source of comfort while he was in distress.
