More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have previously worked at an elementary school in a third grade classroom setting, for the majority of the school year. I also have worked at a daycare in Lawrence for a year as an aid. At the daycare, I helped out in all classrooms, though I was primarily in the infant and preschool rooms. I have nannied for around two and a half years, working under contract for four different families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy arts and crafts, dance parties, puzzles and walks the most! Sensory bins are a great activity to do with children as well. I feel I'm very open to any activities the children may enjoy as long as it's safe and approved by the guardians.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is making sure the child(ren) know they are loved and safe. They are the number one priority! Engaging with them and maintaining a positive demeanor is so important for their development.

My experience with special needs children...

My senior year of high school I tutored a freshman with special needs for a semester. I've also cared for an infant who was hearing impaired in my previous daycare aid position.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It's truly so hard to choose my favorite moment I've had as a nanny, though I can share a few! Playing hide and seek with two of my nanny kiddos was always so much fun. I would hide, in more obvious spots, and let them find me. Seeing how excited they got after discovering my location always brought me joy. Another favorite would definitely be when the youngest I nannied for said puppy for the first time! We had been working on saying new words and I was so excited to see him progress.
