A little bit about me

My name is Ashlyn and I am 21 years old!! I absolutely love working with kids and it is my passion. Some experience i learned the most from is working at an elementary school in an ABS unit with children with autism/behavioral issues. I also worked at a daycare and absolutely loved it. I was in charge of naps, eating, diaper changes, and all sorts of entertainment. My most recent experience has been at a therapy academy being a behavioral technician. I get to work 1:1 with kids with autism. It’s taught me so much about different levels of autism, and how to deal with all kids of behaviors. I get so much serotonin working with kids and knowing i make such a big impact. I really look forward to meeting you!!!

I have previously worked with autistic kids at an elementary school in an ABS unit, as well as 2 different daycares with kids from infant age to 8 years old. My most recent experience has been at a therapy academy for autistic kids, working 1:1.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy planning fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children to learn through play. Some of my favorite activities include arts and crafts, outdoor play, trips to the park, reading books, imaginative play, sensory activities, baking, games, and learning activities. I also enjoy helping with homework, encouraging creativity, and creating opportunities for children to build confidence, independence, and social skills in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most rewarding part of being a nanny is building meaningful relationships with children and watching them learn, grow, and gain confidence every day. I love creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children feel supported while encouraging their curiosity, independence, and development. Being someone they can trust and helping them reach new milestones is what makes this work so fulfilling to me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with special needs through both an ABS classroom and an ABA therapy academy. In these roles, I have supported children with autism and developmental disabilities by implementing individualized behavior strategies, encouraging communication and social skills, and creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment. These experiences have strengthened my patience, adaptability, and ability to build trusting relationships while helping children reach meaningful developmental goals.
