My experience with special needs children...
I haven't worked with (other) special needs children but I've been type 1 diabetic for about ten years, which makes me qualified to care for diabetic kids like I once was. My endocrinologists have consistently praised my blood sugar control.
I’ve used multiple daily injections with Lantus as a basal (syringes and pens), Dexcom g6 and Omnipod g3 in the past. I am currently using Dexcom g7 and Omnipod g5 in a closed loop system. I use Contour next for manual testing and have used various test strips in the past. If your child uses a different system, such as one with external tubing, please include that so I can research it to ensure the best possible care for your kiddo.
