Hey parents & guardians!

My name is Atarah. I'm 31 years old, a mom, and a professional nanny of 8 years!

I offer part time services as I know it's so hard to find nanny's for just a few days a week. My current Tuesday/Thursday family has found a full-time nanny (congrats to them!) so if you're looking for a temporary part timer, until you find your full timer, I might be a good fit for you!

A little about me. I love to be outside exploring, baking, dancing, crafts, board games, and of course reading! You'll always find me with two books, one I'm reading, and one just in case I finish the other. I tend to lean towards the Montessori approach when caring for children. Natural consequences, soothing voice, practicing safety, and gentleness are all in my wheelhouse. I am CPR and First aid certified for all ages. I am most comfortable with newborn-10 years and preferably no more than 6 children at once. (:

More About Me

I have been a professional nanny for 8 years. I have worked for a number of families, as I hosted a pod during the 2020 shutdown. I have been with my current family for almost 2 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My favorite things to do with children include hiking, visiting museums and art installations, baking, reading, and board games!

The most important part about being a nanny...

We're building up tiny humans to have confidence, self awareness, gentle interactions, and positive self image. Working towards all of this through play and engagement is, to me, the most important.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with autistic children as well as a child with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and nystagmus.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I am currently working with a 2.5 year old boy. Through this holiday season I taught him a variety of tunes and songs. My favorite being "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas". When it came time for his parents to ask him what I wanted for Christmas he proudly told them a hippopotamus. He was convinced that is all I wanted and needed and talked his parents into getting me a small hippo toy. It sits happily on my shelf of rocks and trinkets from previous nanny kids. (:
