Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at Journey kids summer camp as a counselor for the summers of 2022 and 2023. In my time during the other seasons I babysit for various families. I also have worked at Fort Myers Community Church as a babysitter for various ages and groups ranging 6-18 kids.

My experience with special needs children...

At my time at Journey kids summer camp I was partnered with multiple kids with special needs where I would help the child cope and adapt to the different setting of the camp or surroundings we were in if we went on a trip. I also volunteer at my church with a Sunday school class called Joyful Journeys, this is a sensory room kids with a variety of diagnoses can go in. While I do have experience with this I do also recognize every child is different and requires specific tailored accommodations. I always keep the child’s best interest at heart and understand that accommodations are simply a way to help each child thrive—without ever reducing them to a diagnosis or label.
