Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a peer tutor for the essential skills classes in the high school and the elementary. It was always something different each day, but it was the best time of my life. They taught me so much and I hope that I impacted their lives as well. I also have watched over family members like little cousins and such.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love just getting to know the kids overall. Specific activities would be coloring, reading, playing indoor games like twister or candy land. If allowed outdoor fun is great. I love playing in the sprinklers or swinging on the swings. If its cold out we can totally build a snowman!
The most important part about being a nanny...
is to be able to impact the children in a positive way that they remember and can live by. Be their role model and help guide them to have great morals.
My experience with special needs children...
As stated before I was a peer tutor in the elementary and high school. I have found I am better with the younger children than the high schoolers. My little cousin has CP and I have learned that if these wonderful children can wake up everyday and have their disabilities then my "struggles and complaints" are nothing, if they can do it I can do it.
