Ive worked as a student teacher at my dance studio for 3 years, volunteered in Haiti at my aunts elementary school. My two younger twin sisters also count for much of my experience with children and lastly I had an overnight babysitting job for a 9 year old girl and her dog while I temporarily lived in texas.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy arts and crafts of any sort to give the children a way to express themselves through fun, calming and creative activity. My favorite gaming system for children is the Wii because of games like Just Dance and Wii Sports which give them some exercise time and heighten their motor skills. As for outdoor activities, mini field trips to the museum, the park or the library are just a couple of things I can think of to keep children occupied while still having fun.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most memorable moment I had was when I was babysitting in Texas and the little girl had become upset because she missed her mother and couldn’t sleep. I offered to sleep on the upper part of her bunk bed to make her feel less alone. It made me happy knowing that I could provide security and comfort for her even though her mother couldn’t be there with her.
