A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Ava Barrera; I am 22 years old! I recently graduated from UCF with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Development. I have been working in childcare since I was an early teenager, I have experience caring for children of all ages. In addition to babysitting I was also a tutor for ages 5-18. I love making crafts and playing games. I received my CPR and First Aid certifications from the Red Cross. Throughout my time in college I developed an approach to childcare that centers around fostering curiosity and building relationships. I am open to full time, part time, or occasional help. If I seem like a good fit for your family I would love to hear from you!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a baby sitter in my community since I was 14. I have babysat for numerous families at different age groups. Once I moved to Orlando I became a tutor specializing in Early Literacy and SAT preparation. I was also an assistant teacher during my last years of college.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My main goal is to engage the child in their interests so I will participate in any activity they are interested in. I tend to gravitate towards music and art based activities. I also love to bake/cook with older kiddos with parental approval.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part is connecting with every child. Each kiddo is unique and special. Building a safe, nurturing, and caring bond with the family is essential. Clear communication with parents is also necessary in ensuring the kids safety and enjoyment.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked with many special needs children during my time in Orange County schools. I mostly assisted students with Autism and ADHD but I also worked with students who had OCD and ODD. My degree in Childhood Development provided me with a specialized skill set for numerous disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment is the first time you are able to connect with the child you are with. This differs greatly based on different ages and personalities. I love to see babies who are excited to see you or older children wanting to show you something new they just learned. Every moment, especially the small ones, are special.

Giselle S. - Seeking Work in Orlando

Babysitter Available in Orlando, FL: Giselle S.

Hi! I’m Giselle, a university student currently studying at UCF. I come from a very multicultural background and have lived in several countries, which has made me adaptable and comfortable with families from different cultures. I have around 5 years of experience nannying during the summers, caring for children and spending time with them at the beach. I’m responsible, patient, energetic, and enjoy creating fun experiences while making sure children feel safe and cared for. I can also help with homework and schoolwork.
I speak five languages: Italian, Spanish, English, French, and Russian. I believe exposing children to different languages at home is a wonderful gift. I grew up speaking Italian with my dad and Russian with my mom, which is how I naturally became multilingual. Families can let me know which language they would like me to speak with their children, and I’d be happy to incorporate it naturally into our time together.
