I did an internship in a special needs classroom for 2 years (ages 4-8).

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for a high functioning, autistic six year old boy. I also have experience caring for a nonverbal, non ambulatory, blind, and deaf man one on one where I helped him complete his daily tasks (feeding, medication, bathing). A in nice then, I have worked in a hospital caring for many different people, all with individual needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment was when I was teaching a nonverbal boy how to use sign language in his day to day life. This made communication much easier for him, as he had difficulty expressing his needs. I have never felt more proud.
