Hello. My name is Barbara. Mother of three beautiful daughters and the young grandmother of three granddaughters. I like to think of myself as a domesticated goddess since I love and thrive on anything family related from your beautiful babies,fur babies and a functioning household so your day is easier and flows seamlessly. I work well under pressure and like to have foresight in thinking of things ahead so that you don’t have to. I am very organized and clean as we go. Art is very important and expressive and gives children something to look forward to. Outside time is just as important even if it’s just to get air or look for leaves. I’ve worked for one family and I have managed and worked for 175 children,my staff and my parents. I have worked w special needs children and adults as well. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I taught Arts and Crafts within 5 schools and managed a staff. And site. I have experience as a paraprofessional where I worked with learning behaviors and handicaps. I also have been a site director for a before and after care where I ran my own site as a business,retained and trained staff ,set up daily curriculum,billing ,family nights etc.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy finding out what makes the child happy. What are his/her interests and let’s try to work around that and expand on it. I love to cook/bake ,take walks in nature grab a pet rock or make a leaf book of the changing leaves and their shapes. I enjoy sports as long as I’m not counted on for your win.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This is easy. The most important part of being a nanny is treating ,loving and protecting that child as if it were your own and nothing less. Build a safe space for the child and the parents so everyone can thrive .

My experience with special needs children...

I had a student one year which everyone seemed to give up on.I was her last resort. This beautiful young girl needed undivided attention,love and understanding. She was so smart and stored facts. She was a runner and a fighter where three teachers couldn’t calm her. I like to think my playful laid back approach paired with no nonsense is a great balance to reassure the child that they are safe and valued and loved.
