More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 5+ years of experience managing groups upwards of 20 children for Vacation Bible School camps as well as after school programs. I’m currently a full-time nanny to two preschool-aged children, one of which I homeschool, & I’m responsible for their meals, transportation, & morning/bedtime routines. I also do household chores as needed.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Balancing creative & outside activities is a must & I strive to do activities that promote motor & cognitive function in an enjoyable & engaging way. For example, I’ve made popsicle stick catapults which allowed the kids to work on fine motor skills & they also really enjoyed launching cotton balls everywhere!
With outside activities, I like to design obstacle courses that promote body awareness & expel energy in a fun way. I then let the kids take the reins and they get to design an obstacle course for us to do, and by “us” that normally entails fellow Paw Patrol & Bluey characters. I enjoy this because it gives them an opportunity to creatively design a project & implement it, which gives them a sense of leadership & confidence.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny is not just a job but an opportunity to commit the development of a child, and while that’s no easy feat, it is a high calling that pushes you to be the absolute best you can be for them. The most important part about being a nanny is being a consistent, level-headed, & fun-loving presence for them. I’ve seen so much of what works & doesn’t work, & I believe having these qualities are vital for children to thrive.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve nannied a 7 year old with autism for the past year, and it’s been so enjoyable that it’s pushed me to pursue a career that cares for special needs children. I play a vital role in her homeschooling & day to day activities all in collaboration with her therapists. Caring for her has taught me the value of empowering young voices. She makes me a better nanny!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The kids I nanny full-time are so energetic, so I love to play tag with them & their little giggles are simply priceless!
