Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy creative, hands-on activities that get children learning without feeling like they’re doing “school.” Arts and crafts, sensory play, outdoor adventures, cooking, games, reading, imaginative play, seasonal projects, and finding activities around each child’s individual interests. I especially enjoy thinking outside the box and turning everyday moments into opportunities to learn, explore, and have fun.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Building trust with both the child and the parents. A nanny is being welcomed into a family’s home and entrusted with what matters most to them. I believe children need to feel safe, loved, understood, respected and encouraged, while parents need to know they have someone dependable who respects their values and will genuinely support their family.
My experience with special needs children...
I’m a certified Special Education teacher with years of experience supporting children with a wide range of developmental, learning, behavioral, sensory, and emotional needs. I believe in meeting each child where they are, learning what helps them feel safe and successful, and building on their individual strengths. I’m experienced with behavior supports, sensory needs, emotional regulation, routines, communication, and working closely with families.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I can make them laugh with me for the first time! I have to admit, I like to be silly especially with the “cool” pre teens that don’t want to laugh with any adult over anything! lol i like a good challenge!😉 My favorite moments are when a child realizes they can do something they once thought they couldn’t. Whether it’s learning a new skill, working through a difficult moment, or simply gaining confidence and independence, being there for those little victories is one of the things I love most about working with children.
