More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience caring for children of various ages, including helping raise my younger cousin since he was 6 months old (he is now almost 15 years old) and caring for my three nieces. My responsibilities included preparing meals, maintaining a clean and organized home, helping with early learning skills such as numbers and the alphabet, and providing daily supervision while parents worked.

I also homeschooled three children during COVID-19 while their parent was deployed in the military. I managed their daily routines, prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner, helped them attend school on time, and supported their learning throughout the day.

In addition, I worked at a charter school where I assisted students with behavioral challenges and occasionally stepped in to help in the nurse’s office when needed.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love the outdoors. I enjoy painting, drawing, coloring, and I also love a day/night in watching movies. I love how their minds think and love the adorable questions they ask.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is the bond I create with the children and being able to give parents peace of mind so they can relax, recharge, and enjoy a little time for themselves knowing their children are safe and cared for.

My experience with special needs children...

I have 2 people close to me that have special needs children. While it can be difficult, I personally think they can be the sweetest. It’s very important to learn and observe their different ways of communicating. Some children with special needs perceive sensory input in different ways and may be unable to verbalize discomfort. I think the whole point of working with special needs children and teaching is to use a variety of methods to help another person understand and master new skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was while I was caring for my battle buddy’s children during her deployment after I had recently left the Army. I was helping one of the children with a difficult homework question, and when they finally understood the answer, they leaned on me with relief and excitement.

At that moment, I realized how much I had grown emotionally. Instead of feeling awkward about affection, I simply felt love and pride for them. I congratulated them and celebrated the moment with them, and it became one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had caring for children.
