Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have tutored and also worked as a mentor and youth leader. I have a ridiculous amount of patience for kids and I understand how to effectively communicate with them so I can confirm with myself that the child and I are on the same page...patience is a virtue, my friends. Also, I have a lot of experience with babies starting at the newborn age. I LOVE babies. They seem to always feel the same about me. :) I'm more than willing to be the one singing like a "crazy person" to the babies or making silly faces. Babies truly warm my heart! Children do too, but the rest is probably self explanatory! :)
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to teach them things like how to sculpt clay and paint. I have a ton of arts and crafts stuff that the kids always enjoy digging into. I have found recently that the kids are really interested in circus arts. I have many fun props for the flow arts like a levitation flow wand, led hula hoops, led jump ropes, and a diabolo set. This has really sparked their interest, they never want to put the stuff away. I also have silly costume props and such for the "photo booth" and other activities and they love that! The photo booth is a "booth" that I built using PVC pipe and various backdrop fabrics and we have our own little shoot to develop photos for parents! There's so much more, but only so much space. I can promise they won't be bored!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being fully aware of your duties. All the time. No excuses. After you comprehend everything expected of you, there will be no reason to perform anything less. Simple!
