More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Before the age of eighteen I grew up in a large household, homing nephews that I learned to care for. It was not until I turned eighteen, however, that I developed a rooted passion in people and families. I pursued my degree in hopes of working in childcare or social services, maybe even a preschool teacher!
But I decided to approach my passions by offering families a more unique and personal experience.
Before my move to Newnan, I had the pleasure of caring for a family with a set of twins! At the age of 3, they both taught me just as much as I did them. We developed activity development together, music therapy, nature walks, book study, and much more over the year that we spent together, furthering my knowledge in more than just basic needs of a child.

Activities:
Book Club: I love reading with children and seeing how they pick up knowledge over time, asking questions along the way and exploring curiosities.
Arts and Crafts: Playing with colors, paint, and scissors are all amazing motor skills that children love learning through! I like exploring science with them through creating stars or planets, and shapes or numbers are perfect introductory lessons for toddlers.
Nature Walks: Soaking up the sun and learning about the Earth is always a perfect way to teach children about animals, their ecosystem, and weather!
Music Class: When obtaining my associates degree through a music scholarship, I've been able to appreciate music and all of it's benefits! Disney songs are a personal favorite of mine, and I love singing with children to promote creativity and expression.

The importance of personal care with special needs children:
As a parent knows better than anyone, developing a good relationship with a nanny is very important when it comes to a child with special needs. Each one is unique on the spectrum and requires the same level of personal care. Having a nanny that is empathetic to this, flexible, and reactive are ways that help strengthen that bond between nanny and family. These are some of the tools that I like to implement when getting to know a child with special needs.

I have so many favorite moments! But, something personal to my heart is the moments I share with the set of twins I care for when we read a book together. We cuddle up, grab a favorite stuffie and blanket, and step into a world of wonder together! It's amazing to see how excited and curious they get when reading about space travel or dinosaurs...Princesses and kings! These moments are when I get to see their growth shine with every sprout of knowledge they share with me.
