I am new to the San Diego area. I am 20 years old and I find so much joy working with kids! I am moving from my hometown Chicago, IL. I am a sophomore in college majoring in Neuroscience but I am undecided in which college to enroll next term. My hobbies involve yoga, meditation, writing, sewing, exercising, painting and enjoying all forms of music & art.
I believe that art in all forms is truly essential to a child’s development & growth. Individually, this means something different to each child which is why it is important to learn about them and see their preference.
I love to volunteer, advocate for the environment, and help my community in many ways. Since high school, I have been involved with different groups of children and dedicated to learning the best ways to teach. My experience with special needs children...

I had 3 months of experience guiding a child diagnosed with autism. Through research and speaking with individuals that have personal experience, I learned activities and mechanisms on how the child would feel integrated, included, and comfortable in the summer camp community. Everyday I prioritized showing him which sets of games and toys we would be playing with for the rest of the day, in addition to teaching him a new activity.
