I am currently in pursuit of my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work at Metropolitan State University in Saint Paul. I hold an associates degree from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, WI. I'm originally from Madison, WI, where I spent many of my winters and summers babysitting as well as housekeeping. I love to make sure the kids I watch are active, physically and mentally, by changing up environment, going outside, playing sports and games. The last few years I have worked with adults with special needs as well as elderly adults, but have been missing working with kids again.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a TA for the entirety of my senior year of high school, having worked teaching literature for summer school prior to that. I recently was a nanny for a wonderful family with two kids, 3 and 5, but they no longer are in need of a nanny. I have babysat since I was 11 years old, having many younger neighbors and cousins growing up.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to the park, playing sports like soccer, basketball, and even just throwing a ball around
Arts and crafts, I love watching creative minds at work
Chilling out and watching a movie
Making cookies!
I also try to take advantage of teaching moments where I can, whether it be a fun science project or a tougher reading session.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think it is important as a nanny to not just think of this job as just something you have to do, but something that you get to do. Getting to work with young minds, whether it's teaching or just spending the day playing games, there will always be something to learn for both child and nanny.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with special needs adults, in group home settings (all women, behavioral) and have loved every second of it. I unfortunately lack experience with special needs children, but feel my experience with kids as well as adults with special needs will allow me to be a fast learner in this area.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building a fort for a rainy day movie! We were watching Land Before Time, so they got dressed up in some dinosaur onesies, we made a huge fort the size of the entire living room, and about halfway through the movie the kids got antsy and played monsters while wrecking the fort! Lots of laughs were had that day.
