Hi! I'm a former k-12 teacher and current toddler teacher. The majority of my young child care experience has been with infants and my super power is that I'm great at getting babies to sleep!

I am invested in planning purposeful learning activities that align with your child's interests, skills, and developmental level to bring as much enrichment and fun to every day as possible! I know that all children learn, play, and form relationships differently and I am excited to learn what works best for your child.

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My favorite moments are when I am connecting with a child over something they are deeply interested in. When I first meet a child, I like to follow their lead and build a relationship by joining in with parallel play that interests them and narrating what they are doing with meaningful praise. This can also give me some information on what is interesting to them - some children may enjoy outings or active play and others may have a flair for pretend play or exploring how things work. I like to make a plan for each day based on the child or children's interests and abilities with opportunities for learning in many different developmental domains.

Specifically, I love to explore the outdoors with children of all ages and see what we can discover, what challenges we meet, and how we overcome them. Sensory bins are always a hit as well and present many opportunities for science, math, and cognitive learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of caring for children for me is letting them know that they are loved and supported always, that they are interesting and worthy and never too much, and that they will always have the structure they need to have their physical and emotional needs met.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with speech delays and autism. I am also the parent of an autistic child who had a speech regression and communicated with ASL, so I know about 300 signs and am working on learning more.

I have experience planning ahead to manage a child's triggers for overwhelm and helping the child calm down while staying safe, as well as helping to prevent eloping.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love when kids make up their own inside jokes! I took care of a baby who would always sign "bed" when I put her on the changing table and then shake her head and giggle while I said, "That's not a bed!"
