A little bit about me

I will be going back to school this fall, and am looking for an after school/evening position in the Winston Salem area. I would love to find a family that I can stay with for at least a year or two while I pursue my degree. I have over 6 years of paid childcare experience, with kids between 2 months and 12 years old. I'm comfortable caring for up to four children, and I'm experienced working with both twins and special needs kids. I care for the children I work with as if they're my own, and firmly believe in developing a close, trusting relationship with my kids. I'm a laid back caregiver who emphasizes respect and honesty at all times. I'm looking to work at least 35 hours per week, and would need to give a two week notice before beginning. I charge $13.50 per hour, or a $155 flat rate for overnight shifts. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Besides nannying and babysitting for private families, I have also volunteered in several church nurseries.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading, coloring, and visiting local parks and museums with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe that the most important part about being a nanny is caring for the children as if they're your own. I always want my kids to feel safe and loved when I'm there, and I believe the best way to do that is to build genuine connections with them.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for one special needs child in my career: an autistic 11 year old boy with severe learning disabilities and ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think my favorite moment as a nanny was probably about a month ago. I was tucking my 3 year old twins into bed and going through their night time routine. As I switched the light off and said goodnight, one of them looked up and told me she loved me for the first time. It was such a sweet moment and it felt great to know that she likes having me around, especially since I stay overnight a couple times a week.
