A little bit about me

Hi there! My name is Brittney =) I just moved to the Bothell area after living in the Eastmont/Everett area for most of my life.
I’ve been babysitting for children since I was 13 years old and worked for many different families all through high school. When I graduated I worked as a 2 year old Lead Teacher in an Everett, WA daycare. I worked there for 3 years before deciding to change careers into banking- which I worked for almost 13 years.
I’m now a stay at home mom to a beautiful 1.5 year old baby boy =)
I have tons of experience, with other children and now with my own, and would love to be able to help out other families as well as bring in some income now that I’m no longer working.
If you’d like me to babysit at your house or at my house, either is fine... whatever is most convenient for you! My husband has flexible work hours so that allows me to have flexible work hours as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to be outside with the kids that I’m watching. We go on walks and go to parks and do lots of games and activities outside! I love doing crafts with the older kids. Singing and sensory activities are always a must when I’m watching the infants to toddlers. I’m very flexible with activities so whatever you and your children like to do, I can adapt and make sure the children are always happy! Once I get to know the kids I’m watching, I like to bring different crafts/books/games to make sure everyone is having fun! =)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I always want to make sure I’m the right fit for the family as well as make sure the kids are comfortable with me. The most important part about being a nanny is making sure the kids have a seamless and easy transition from their parents or their last nanny or whatever else they were doing prior to me- to being comfortable and at easy with me. I always want to make sure everyone feels comfortable! =)

My experience with special needs children...

I have two nephews with ADD/ADHD/are on the spectrum. I also have a cousin with Tourettes. I’ve been very involved in all their lives including watching them for the day or watching them for a few weeks at a time depending on schedules.
I’ve also had a lot of experience with “troubled” children as I worked for a Childcare Facility that was primarily filled with children from the Missions or children that were victims of abuse.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are when I can get he kids to do new & fun things that they’ve never done! Like when I took the girls I watched to the park & we decided to paint instead of play like normal. The girls were surprised & none of them had painted like we did-they were so excited! I also love it when i hear the kids telling their parents, with so much enthusiasm, all the things we did & then seeing the joy in the parents eyes when they know their kids are having fun! One of my favorite moments since I’ve been watching kids is when I was able to get this little boy to sleep every day without issue. The parents were working from home & said he never took naps & they could never get him to sleep. I would take him outside & we would be playing all morning! I took my time to watch for “clues” that he was getting tired. I held him & sang to him until he fell asleep. When I tell you the absolute joy & excitement in the parents eyes when they saw their son finally taking naps-it was amazing!!
