More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I firstprofessionally begin caring for children until I was a college student at Wake Forest University. For four consecutive years, I cared for a cardiac surgeon’s family who I completely fell in love with. After those four years, I graduated at the top of my class with a degree in economics. And although I did find success in business with my degree, it was not my passion. My passion was caring for children and making a difference in their lives and the lives of their family members. I have worked with many families throughout the years and each one will forever have a piece of my heart!
After decades of watching children grow, my heart is still just as full of wonder as it was on day one. I have worn many hats over the years—teacher, caregiver, cheerleader, and friend—but my mission has always remained exactly the same. I am dedicated to creating a safe, joyful space where children can learn, families feel supported, and love is at the center of everything I do.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Obviously, it would be impossible for me to name every single activity. I enjoy doing with all the little ones I care for. However, some of the many activities I enjoy would be doing are screen-free, creative, and active tasks that build bonds, spark imaginations, and burn energy.
And some of my other choices include outdoor nature scavenger hunts, messy sensory bins or bathtub painting, mini cooking sessions, and weekly themed traditions like "Field Trip Friday".Outdoor and Active IdeasNature Scavenger Hunt: Make a visual list of leaves, bugs, or red cars to find at a local park.Sidewalk Chalk Obstacle Course: Draw balance lines, hopscotch, and jump spots on the driveway.Freeze Dance Parties: Blast upbeat music inside or outside to get bodies moving. Creative and Mess-Free (or Low-Mess) Indoor FunBathtub Finger Painting: Tape paper to the tub walls using washable paint for easy cleanup. Goodness I could go on forever. But most importantly I spread love and joy each of their days.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny lets you shape a child's early life. You offer safe care, teach good values, and build a deep bond. This job lets you watch a child grow and leaves a lasting, loving mark on their world.
The most important part about being a nanny...
As a nanny, I have had many remarkable and memorable moments. And one of those very special moments occurred when I began working with an amazing quiet, five year-old boy who had autism. On our very first day together, he did not speak or even look at me. Through gentle patients, quiet music, imagine his rhythmic hand flapping rather than stopping it I was able to enter his world. Over the next two years, this amazing boy was able to learn to speak his first full sentence and it was to me! This sweet boy taught me so many things, but I think the most important thing that he taught me was how very important it is to learn how to slow down and see the beauty of the present moment. And learning that alone changed me for the better forever.

My name is Lavinia! I grew up in Boise, Idaho and I’m currently a CSU student who is pursuing a career as an oral surgeon. Growing up in Idaho makes you super outdoorsy, I love going on hikes and camping. My hobbies are all over the place, I love to bake, read, hike, and sew. I also really enjoy working on my car. I love to hangout with any type of pets, even a parrot if I have to. I’m super into connecting with my community, I value the positive experiences and people I had growing up that influenced my passion for learning.
