A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Brooklyn! I’m a Running Start student working toward my associate’s degree in nursing with plans to become a pediatric nurse. I have 8 years of childcare experience, including 3 years paid, with strong references. As the oldest of six siblings (ages 1–14), caring for kids has always been a big part of my life.

I’ve cared for infants through school-aged children and focus on creating a safe, supportive environment where kids feel happy and secure. Most of my classes are online, giving me a flexible and consistent schedule. I’m also a varsity cheerleader, so my schedule can vary slightly seasonally, but I’m very communicative and reliable.

While not CPR/First Aid certified, I gained foundational knowledge through a health class unit and am willing to obtain certification if preferred.

I’ve recently updated my location to Snohomish. However, I split time between Snohomish/Monroe and Seattle, and am willing to work in surrounding areas. I'm seeking at least 12 hours per week.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love getting kids away from screens and encouraging hands-on activities. While a movie can be great for quiet time or even just background noise, I love activities that keep kids engaged and encourage them to use their imagination. I enjoy pretend play, arts and crafts, creative projects, and building with Legos or magnetic tiles.

I’m also a big fan of outdoor time when the weather allows. Whether that’s walks, playground trips, games, or just exploring. When we’re inside, I love doing dance parties or age-appropriate “brain breaks” (like the fun movement videos on YouTube) to keep kids active and burn some energy.

Overall, I really enjoy spending time with kids, building connections, and creating a fun space where they feel comfortable being themselves.

The most important part of being a nanny is building a connection with the kids and the family. I love helping kids feel safe and comfortable, where they can be themselves and have fun. I also think good communication with parents is key, so everyone’s on the same page, and the child’s needs are met.

My favorite nanny moments are when kids ask me to come back or when parents tell me their kids miss me. Knowing that a child enjoyed having me around and felt happy with me is incredibly rewarding. I also love when kids feel comfortable opening up to me, whether that’s older kids talking about deeper thoughts or younger kids sharing their imagination and all the little details about their world. Moments of connection are what make childcare so meaningful to me.
