More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
During the summer while my cousins and siblings were out of school. I had 6 kids at one time. I would wake up around 5:30 or 6 in the mornings to start breakfast for them. I would feed them breakfast and then get them dressed for the day. I would give them lunch at 10:30 to 12 depending on what I had to prepare for them. I would take me outside to play and get some fresh air but never alone and always keep up with your buddy. I gave them a snack around 1 or 1:30 pm and then they would nap until their parents came home at 3 pm.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Reading, coloring, sometimes we would do spelling words every week I would give each of them 5 to words each in their age group and help them learn them. I also would take them outside to play with toys and sometimes to enjoy a snack. I would also let them watch tv but not only cartoons movies that I knew were kids friendly.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The safety and security of the children being watched. Asking about allergies and stuff because you never know with someone else’s child. Every child is different.
My experience with special needs children...
I used to do volunteer work and I painted faces, helped with races, and getting food and stuff prepared for Special Olympics. In high school I had a gym class with special hearts students. I would help them when they feel discouraged or feeling overwhelmed when they haven’t did something the way they wanted. I would encourage them to simply try again and just have fun. I love the special needs children and have great patience with helping them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I had 2 kids and they were playing with toys but they didn’t want to share. So I turned on coco melon and helped them put the toys away. I turned around and they were hugging and singing. They held hands and one lead the other to the couch. Within the next 10 minutes they were napping on the couch together like they had never been fighting. I had a talk with them about sharing and playing together and afterwards I saw a difference.
