Hi! My name is Caiden, but you can call me Cai. I’m 19 years old and an online student at Morgan State University. I recently moved to Atlanta and am looking for a family I can support with dependable, compassionate childcare. I have years of hands-on experience caring for children through my family’s daycares in Philadelphia and by helping raise my younger siblings, including my nonverbal autistic brother. My experience includes newborns, infants, toddlers, and school-aged children. I’m comfortable with bottle and formula preparation, diaper changes, meal prep, light housekeeping, nap routines, and creating fun, educational activities. I’ve also taken child development and CPR training courses, giving me both practical and educational experience. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As part of my Child Development coursework, I completed required hands-on hours working directly with children in a classroom setting. I created and implemented age-appropriate lesson plans, supervised activities, assisted with meals and feeding, encouraged social and cognitive development through play, and helped maintain a safe, nurturing environment.

I have also assisted in my families daycares throughout both high school and college. Along with babysitting newborns ages 1month - 1yr from both friends and family.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am both an indoor and outdoor so anything your child enjoys I am certain I would to!

With my infants I focus on tummy time, sensory play, I love singing to my babies, I prefer it coming from me rather than a video. We'll practice movement like stretches and once theyre able we'll practice sitting and eventually standing!

My favorite with my toddlers and preschoolers are anything really activating those fine motor skills, like painting, building, simple puzzles, and other arts and crafts.

I enjoy going outside to let my kids explore the world outside of the home, like nature walks, visiting the zoo, the GA aquarium is a must!, water play on hot days, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is understanding both your child and their family. Every child has their own personality and learning how to get through to them in what I call "their language" is a crucial step in building a relationship based on trust and relation. It makes the daily routine as well as learning process run smoother and more comfortable for both the child and myself. I also like to put the parents wants and needs at the forefront of everything I do. I understand that there is a specific way that some want their children to be raised and it is my duty to respect and adhere to that as a nanny.

My experience with special needs children...

My younger brother was diagnosed with autism when he was 1 year old, and I was 9 at the time. My mother took it upon herself to teach me and my other siblings the importance of understanding a child with autism. In my brothers situation he is nonverbal, so I have gained a better idea of how to understand what a child, verbal or not, wants or needs based on body language and vocalizations. I have developed a lot of patience over the years and have never once became frustrated with a child. I understand that life is 1000x more new and confused for them, so whenever they are upset or frustrated, act out, or just take a little longer to understand, I am right there working with them along the way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was definitely the first time I babysat a newborn. Brayden was only 1 month old at the time and I was so eager to take care of him! I taught myself how to swaddle, make the formula just right, and change his diaper. Though I had done all of those things before, I had never handled a baby so tiny, they really are the sweetest thing!
