A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Cailey, and caring for children has always been a big part of my life. As the oldest sibling in a split family, I’ve always helped care for my three younger siblings, including my 8-year-old sister, and naturally stepped into a loving, parent-like role when my parents were working.

For nearly three years, I’ve worked in childcare at an after-school program with children ages 5–11, including before and after school care and full-time summer care. I’m CPR certified, trained in first aid and safety precautions, and renew my trainings yearly. I love creating a safe, positive environment where kids feel supported, confident, and valued. I help with homework, plan activities, communicate with parents, and guide children with patience and kindness.

I was a Teacher Cadet, student-taught in a fourth-grade classroom, coached teens with special needs, and still assist at an elementary school. I truly enjoy building strong bonds and being a dependable, caring role model.

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children feel valued, seen, and heard. It’s about being a dependable role model, guiding them with patience and kindness, and helping them grow emotionally, socially, and creatively. A great nanny also listens to each child’s needs, celebrates their progress, and builds strong, trusting relationships with both the children and their families. At its core, being a nanny is about making a positive, lasting impact on a child’s life while fostering joy, curiosity, and confidence every day.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve had the joy of caring for and working with children with special needs in several meaningful ways. I babysat a girl with cerebral palsy, supporting her with mobility, speech, and learning, which taught me patience, creativity, and how to adapt to each child’s unique needs. I also coached an innovative fitness class for special education students, creating a safe, fun, and encouraging space where they could build confidence, teamwork, and friendships. At my high school, I helped two special education students write stories for the school newspaper, guiding them in socializing, expressing themselves, and celebrating their accomplishments. I’ve also mentored students at Special Olympics events, supporting them in achieving their goals. These experiences have shown me how to connect deeply with each child, make learning and play joyful, and be a dependable, encouraging role model.
