A little bit about me

My name is Cait. My husband and I recently moved to Wilmington, and I've been looking for opportunities to nanny full-time or babysit part-time. I have a decade of experience caring for children of all ages, and have been working in a classroom environment for the last four years, primarily with children between the ages of 3-6. I have some education in teaching/guiding elementary age children, but the most care experience with younger children. I would love a position that allows me to work for around 6-8 hours most weekdays, but I'm willing to be flexible, depending on the need of the parents. I'm willing to cook, clean, and assist with homework (so long as they're not "smarter than a fifth grader," my long division could use some work). I'm happy to help with pick up / drop off from school, and can provide educational and fun activities and outings for those not quite ready for school as well.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

● Various long term babysitting and full time nanny positions (ages 2-10, willing to provide resume and references)
● Montessori Aftercare Director for 2 yrs - Students 3-6yrs old
● Montessori Assistant Teacher for 1 yr - Students 6-9yrs old

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

● Absolutely adore reading to children, willing to help with phonetics development / early reading skills
● Picnics at the park, walks, and nature observation games
● Children's museums and art galleries
● Library events and activities, as is developmentally appropriate
● Building blocks and playing dolls
● Arts and crafts activities (painting, coloring, photography, origami, and bracelet/necklace making - older kids only)
● Cooking and baking
● Incorporating personal responsibility for the household as activities, chores and tidying up, as is developmentally appropriate

The most important part about being a nanny...

is meeting the individual needs of each unique child. My priority is always to enrich and nurture the future generations, and I do that by emphasizing literacy and social-emotional skills (conflict resolution, naming and regulating feelings, and how to talk to one another).

The most important part about being a nanny...

was setting up a water slip and slide in the middle of a hot June day and following it up with a shady picnic lunch (storytime obviously included) in the backyard. Kids were exhausted by the end and entertained for the whole day, and we got to pack our lunches together and talk about our favorite books while we ate.

Kaylie S. - Seeking Work in Wilmington

Full-Time Nanny Available in Wilmington, NC: Kaylie S.

I am a caring, enthusiastic nanny with four years of babysitting and nannying experience, caring for children ranging from 4 months to 10 years old. I truly thrive when working with kids and love creating a fun, safe, and nurturing environment where they can learn, grow, and be themselves. I especially enjoy coming up with creative, screen-free activities that encourage imagination, creativity, and hands-on play. Whether we’re doing arts and crafts, playing outside, reading stories, or making up silly games, I love finding new ways to keep little minds engaged and happy. My favorite sound in the entire world is the laughter of little kids playing and having fun, and being able to create those joyful moments is one of the most rewarding parts of being a nanny!

Fun Facts: I love to read, play video games, play board games, chit chat, and listen to music.
Brynna J. - Seeking Work in Wilmington

Babysitter Available in Wilmington, NC: Brynna J.

Hi! My name is Brynna, but most people tend to call be Bee or Bebe. I’m twenty years old, and while I don’t have any *paid* childcare experience, I do have a LOT of experience with children. My family is massive, and a grand majority are between the ages of one and twelve. As the oldest child (and grandchild), keeping an eye on the littles often fell to me at any sort of family gathering —- and I loved it! I love children. My main reason for giving this a shot is that I really want to gain experience for professional childcare in the future, whether that’s teaching or working in a daycare.

Shania S. - Seeking Work in Wilmington

Babysitter Available in Wilmington, NC: Shania S.

My name is Shania, and I’m 17 years old. Growing up, I helped take care of my younger siblings, who are 8 and 12 years younger than me, which gave me a lot of experience caring for children from a young age. I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids, having fun with them, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. I also had the opportunity to care for a family friend’s autistic child for about two months before their family moved away. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how to be patient, responsible, caring, and attentive to each child’s individual needs. Taking care of children comes naturally to me, and I truly enjoy being someone they can trust and feel comfortable around.
