More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My childcare experience started at a young age, I started a "babysitting business" when I was 8. I babysat all through high school, until my junior year when I got my first after school nannying job. I was mainly responsible for the 6 year old, but they also had two daughters 10 and 13. This is when I truly fell in love with nannying. I loved the simple practices of cleaning up for the family, preparing snacks and dinner for the kids. When I left for college, on breaks I'd come home to take care of the kids during breaks. By 2021, I moved to remote classes and had more flexibility within my schedule. I started caring for a 5 month old, this is where I gained a lot of my knowledge in infant care.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Taking them to things like, the park, omsi, ice cream. Also who doesn't love a good game of hide and go seek or soccer!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I used to look up to my nanny a lot, I find that the influence you have on the kid as their nanny is very heavy. That is why it's so important to be a good influence to the kid you're nannying, they listen!

When the kiddo I had been nannying for two years wrote on my going away letter, "i love you". It showed how much I mattered in his life, and that was the greatest gift.

Hi! I'm a Grandma of 4 grandsons who are all teenagers now and I desperately miss caring and playing with infants. I moved from Iowa to Portland in the summer of 2024, but prior to moving, I was a part time nanny for a beautiful family.
