Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am currently a teacher (I’ve taught 4th, 6-8, and 9-12) and worked as a zoo keeper and outdoor educator previously. I’ve written adolescent focused health policy and worked in the harm reduction sector. I served as the primary guardian for a family member from ages 8-13 and have babysat regularly for children as young as 2 months old. I’ve also coached children aged 3+ in soccer and swim and have tutored children in 2nd-12th grade!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
On a rainy day I LOVE reading, language learning, drawing/painting, board games, baking or cooking, and puzzles. On a nice day outside I enjoy jogging, walking/hiking, visiting parks, bird watching, swimming or playing soccer, and gardening.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is remembering why you do what you do! I believe so strongly that children can tell when you don’t want to be where you are and it’s so important to me that my students or the families I nanny for know I am an EXCITED to see them each day!
My experience with special needs children...
In my role as a high school science teacher I have worked with students of all levels and have become passionate about integrating therapeutic and behavioral de-escalation techniques (especially emotional freedom tapping, which I’m certified in) into my classroom/life. I believe strongly in accessibility and advocacy for special needs students and am currently learning American Sign Language in my free time!
My experience working with special needs children (under 13) is limited but I do volunteer at a daycare for medically fragile children here in LA. I am a fast and diligent learner who is well versed in first-aid.
Ultimately, I am open to working with any child and believe that each child will have a learning curve, regardless of their background, but I’m excited to prove my dedication to their wellbeing and development.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The sweet baby I watch on a regular basis going from crying when I’d walk in the door (since I’m a sign his mom is leaving) to shrieking with excitement when he’d hear my voice in the house! It makes my heart sing and when he was baptized they chose me as his godmother which is an honor I will cherish FOREVER!
