Hi! My name is Calista. I am 22 and currently work halftime as a high school educator, teaching freshmen literature, philosophy and choir at the Chesterton Academy of Bowling Green. I graduated from St. Marys College with my Bachelors in Liberal Arts this past May, and had my first experience nannying for a family of four over the summer in Poland. I also have seven younger siblings, and so plenty of experience caring for children of all ages. Needless to say, I love kids and would be happy to help caring for your family as well. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I teach younger teens at a local Catholic high school and nannied for four children abroad this summer. At my previous nanny job in Poland, I helped cook meals, played with the children, tutored them, and read to them to help them learn English.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading to kids, tutoring, and baking. I also love playing outdoor sports and games with them and just encouraging them to be creative.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is understanding that the child has a life outside of those few hours you are with them. It is crucial to be patient and attentive when a child is misbehaving or acting strangely. You never know what could be going on at school or other groups, and so its important to pay attention when a child is acting out, yet also patient because you might not know the bigger pciture.

My experience with special needs children...

Unfortunately, I do not have experience taking care of special needs children, but am more than happy to learn how to care for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is probably when I taught three of my Polish nanny-family's girls how to swing dance. They were laughing and bumping into each other and spinning all over the place, and it was so much fun!
