Although my experience as a nanny is quite limited, as a tutor, getting to chat with my kids after our classes was my favorite part. Children would always talk to me openly about both their shenanigans and their worries. A moment that has stuck with me for years is when one of my students admitted to me in tears that she was being bullied in school and was scared to tell her parents, as they were very busy preparing for the baby they had on the way. Being trusted by a child in this way is a heartwarming privilege and has taught me to always be as attentive as possible of a kid's behavior since verbal communication can be tricky for them.
