More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a nanny/cook for a family of 6. Varying from ages 8 months old-13 years old. I would clean cool and help the kids with homework as well as make sure they have done all their home chores if there were any. I would make lunch and dinner specially for the children never for the adults but they would always find a way to take a bite here and there! I would prep lunches for school the next day and clean up after dinner and make sure to have the house cleaned and settled before I would leave.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing outdoors with children I believe they can get all the energy out playing catch or jumping on a trampoline rather then using tv and screens to distract them. I believe in engaging with them and helping them understand that they can have fun other ways. I would also say doing crafts I loved doing crafts as a kid no matter what it was I made it!
My experience with special needs children...
I have a nephew his name is Andrew and he has Holoprosencephaly. He is not able to speak or walk or able to care for himself on his own. I have helped him with therapy and helped learn things such as he calls his grandpa “apa” which is the way we call my dad in Spanish. I have also shown him how to hold my hand when I ask for it as well as him knowing how to give us kisses and yells at us which he doesn’t like what we give him.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment as a nannie was when one of my children who was 8 years old came home and asked what’s for dinner? I let him know that we were having lasagna with broccoli and toasted garlic bread. He put his hoodie up mind you while he is looking at me in my eyes with a mad face and says “ I can’t have garlic” I ask him why and he says “because I had garlic at school and look what happened “he then shows me he lost both of his “fang teeth” he had that were loose and we were waiting for months to fall.
