Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I began volunteering at my church pre-school and nursery at the age of 13. This was my foundational opportunity where I learned how to change diapers, bottle-feed and burp babies, entertain toddlers, and teach pre-school age children by reading and completing crafts with them.
I also spend 8 months volunteering daily at The Dream Center, when I was 18. Here, I volunteered on the "family floor," a place where homeless families were housed, where I spent hours babysitting unruly children, on a one-on-one basis as well as in group settings.
During college, I worked at the Santa Monica YMCA as a summer day-camp counselor where I led a group of 20 kids, ages 9-11 in daily activities and on field trips.

It is important to me to create a special bond with not only the child, but the family. I enjoy being able to be someone that the baby trusts and feels safe with, and also being someone the parents can entrust with the safety of their child.
